Ios

Ios is well known for partying but there is also a really nice beach and the island is well worth seing.

We found a nice hotel called Hermes, right between the town and the beach.

Koufonissi

Koufonissi, or more correctly Ano Koufonissi, is a very small island. You can walk around it in a morning the guide book told us, a little bit too far to walk in flip-flops though Snakebunk tells you. The island is for some reason very popular amongst Swedish families.

Mykonos

Mykonos is a somewhat expensive island, with a taste of fashion and upper class (not as snobby as Santorini though). There are great discos and a fair share of gay people.

There are thousands of small churches on the Greek islands. This one was right in front of our terrace.

We found great rooms in Sofias Village high above the town. It was nice to have a pool since the beach is a busride away.

A long time ago, back in the fifties, a pelican stranded on Mykonos. It was named Petrus, and the villagers persuaded it to stay by cutting its wings of. Today there are at least two pelicans walking aroung in the lower parts of the town.

This is a great place to be sometime between dinner and nightclub.

Naxos

Naxos is a large and mountainous island. There are lots of tourists but also a lot of people working outside of tourism.

Cats are not rare on the greek islands. This one was sitting on a cafe in Filoti, a town in the middle of Naxos.

Paros

Paros is a nice island with lots of taking it easy as well as nightlife. We were here in the beginning of June so it was more taking it easy than nightlife.

Parikia is the main town of Paros and this is the beach in Parikia.

There is only one way to keep water in the zink; use a Pringles lid and put it over the hole with the top up.

The toilet issue #1

Knock on the door before you enter. Some people lock the door, some doors can't be locked and some people are just sitting there waiting for you...

The toilet issue #2

There's not always a lot of flush pressure in the toilets. If you can't get rid of what you've created tip one is to use the shower to add water, tip number two is to have a friend throw in a bucket of water while you're flushing.

The hotel issue

If you want to get the hotels that noone else wants you should go with the hotel owners that meet you in the port, preferably one that screams. If, on the other hand, you want to get real good hotels you should put your bags with a friend at a cafe and then go lookin for rooms on your own.
